We just came home after having taken the Christmas Eve cruise with dinner. We were not disappointed! Au contraire! We can only say, after reading some negative reviews criticizing the food, service, etc., that these writers were, in some cases, ignorant of quality food and Paris prices. We are both French and American, and we live in Paris. The food, from the appetizers (have those critic tourists ever tasted “endives” with scallops and pine nuts and a chutney sauce in their lives? Endives? .... wow! so delicious. The “cabillaud” (whiting fish dinner) was copious and well-seasoned with a subtle leek purée. So so good. All hot and just right. The dessert (the last of the three courses) consisted of four mini cakes, also very tasty. Did we see the restaurant’s name Vert Galant behind all of this impressive food? And the service! Our smiling waiter was from Bhutan, the happiest country on earth. Their GNP is happiness and he served us dinner with a flair and with skill. Come on slack tourists complaining about French food on a boat cruise! Sit back and enjoy the lights, the reflections, the magnificent historical buildings, all lit up this eve. in the city of light. Perhaps the best dinner cruise we’ve taken for years, price wise and quality wise. —-Gordon and Françoise
